Motorcyclists mobilise for Nelspruit rally against farm attacks
Support gathers momentum across provinces as regional convoys prepare to take a stand on rural safety.

The motorcycle community is planning a massive rally on December 6 to show solidarity against farm attacks.
The initiative comes from South Africans David and Lientjie Swanepoel, who have lived in Ireland for the past four years, and follows the vicious attack on Donovan Marx, who was brutally assaulted during a farm attack near Ventersdorp.
Almost every province already has a co-ordinator.
All motorcyclists, clubs, families, and ordinary citizens are welcome to take part in the rally.
Rallies planned across Mpumalanga
Ferdie Pieterse from Nelspruit, who is co-ordinating the event for Mpumalanga, said there is immense interest in the demonstration, noting that a motorcycle club from Middelburg has already contacted him.

Plans are in place to hold rallies in both the Highveld and the Lowveld regions.
Motorcyclists from as far afield as Ermelo and Volksrust have already indicated that they will attend the Nelspruit rally.
Strict rules guide peaceful convoy
No cars will be permitted among the motorcycles; vehicles and supporters must follow behind the convoy.
No fighting or misconduct will be tolerated. “This is a peaceful and respectful demonstration,” Pieterse said.
Participants are encouraged to bring crosses, placards, or flags representing the issue of farm murders.
Pieterse said that this is neither a political event nor one organised by a motorcycle club: “We want to show the world that there is solidarity against farm attacks in South Africa.”
Pieterse said that while the procession will be highly emotional, the organisers intend for everything to proceed in an orderly fashion.
Nelspruit route takes shape
Many arrangements are still being finalised, but in Nelspruit, the plan is to gather at 11:00, ride to the new fresh produce market, where a brief address will be delivered, and potentially conclude the rally at the White River Rugby Club.

Motorcycles will lead the procession, followed by farmers in their vehicles.
Arrangements for Middelburg and eMalahleni also remain to be finalised.
