Midrand’s soccer teams prepare for the season

HALFWAY HOUSE – The four teams competed in U8, 10, 12, 14, 17, and senior football-friendly games to warm up to the season.

Midrand United Football Club (MUFC) hosted three local clubs for a day of friendly football matches on February 19.

Panorama, Siyajabula Soccer Freestylers (SSF), and Tembisa Pistols football clubs participated along with the hosts. There were matches between U8, 10, 12, 14, 17, and senior teams on the day.

United coach and owner Morgan Moodley said the matches, as much as they were friendlies, were preparation ahead of the upcoming soccer season. The day’s results were as follows:

  • U8 MUFC won 5–0 against Panorama FC.
  • U10 MUFC won 6–2 against SSF FC.
  • U12 MUFC lost to 0–1 SSF FC.
  • U14 MUFC team got a walkover as the other team did not show up.
  • U17 MUFC drew 1–1 with SSF FC.
  • Senior premier MUFC lost 2–3 against Tembisa Pistols FC.
