Noordwyk learners learn about the power of choices during mentorship talk

Noordwyk Secondary School learners enjoy Mentorship talk by Mpumelelo Buthelezi.

Boys Mentorship South Africa hosted a talk for the boys of Noordwyk Secondary School led by Mpumelelo Buthelezi who was the speaker for the day and captivated the audience with his inspirational and insightful stories.

The talk’s main message was choices and it emphasised that while challenges and obstacles are unavoidable, your responses and decisions will determine where you end up. By instilling a sense of accountability and empowerment, the Boys Mentorship event left a mark on the learners of Noordwyk Secondary School, giving them the mindset and tools needed to move through life with purpose.

Fanele Matabane, a Grade 11 pupil at Noordwyk Secondary School said, “What I learnt from this experience is that you always have a choice to make whether good or bad or whatever type of situation and also that your choices lead to where you go, so everything you do in life is a choice”

The Representative Council of Learners put the event together in partnership with Boys Mentorship South Africa, as an initiative to guide their fellow schoolmates. Through Buthelezi’s thought-provoking and inspirational stories, the learners learned valuable life lessons and new skills to make better choices.

Michael Ndou said that the event was very inspirational and motivational to him and that he learnt many valuable skills and lessons that he will use now and later in life.
