Police spokesperson Matome Tlamela said a security guard alerted the police after apprehending a man from the shop’s roof suspected of attempting to steal boxes of shoes.
The suspect was detained at the Midrand police station.
Meanwhile, during another incident, a laptop and Ipad were stolen from the boot of a vehicle in Le Roux and Berger Street in Vorna Valley.
Tlamela said the complainant had put his gadgets in the boot of his car and went into the house. “He came back to find them missing from the vehicle. The items are valued at the amount of R21 000.
“No one has yet been arrested and police are still investigating, hoping to bring the suspect to book,” said Tlamela.
