Man murders four friends and wounds girlfriend
On Friday 16 August four people were murdered and a fifth person was wounded in a car in Midrand.
Police have since revealed that the suspect’s girlfriend is fighting for her life in hospital.
“He (the suspect) will appear in Alexandra Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder and attempted murder,” said Police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela.
It is thought that the group were driving home from a party in Olievenhoutbosch when the 30 year old suspect had an argument with one of the passengers.
The suspect then shot the passenger, who was also a childhood friend before shooting three other passengers as well as his girlfriend.
The suspect confessed to the murders this week and is apparently now on suicide watch in the holding cells of Midrand police station.
The suspect’s girlfriend is receiving medical attention.
The victims were all between the ages of 16 and 30.
