25 000 unite for Joburg Day

DOUGLASDALE - Droves of 94.7 Highveld Stereo listeners showed up at Crocodile Creek polo club for one of South Africa's largest music festivals.

From babes still in strollers to grandparents, over 25 000 people experienced Joburg day, the open-air concert featuring 19 headlining acts.

Goldfish, The Parlotones, Prime Circle, LCNVL, Lloyd Cele, Elvis Blue, Gangs of Ballet, Jeremy Loops, Liquideep, Connell Cruise, Jimmy Nevis, Blackbyrd, Matthew Mole, Jack Parow, Morgan Beatbox and Die Heuwels Fantasties had the crowd on their feet during the day.

Miss Earth South Africa 2013 Ashanti Mbanga and Miss Earth ambassadors Erin Roche and Nicole Laxton also joined in. They promoted recycling and reuse of containers on the day to keep the polo club clean.

Their words were heeded as cleaning crews worked around the clock to ensure a safe and litter-free environment.
