Pupils’ fundraising pays off

MIDRAND - On 15 October, Kyalami Preparatory School pupils saw the results of their hard work of raising funds for Mandela Day.

The pupils and teachers raised funds for less fortunate children and called on the Goody Glove Educational Show to help.

The Goody Glove Foundation encourages citizens and corporate companies to donate educational books to less fortunate people and aims to educate people on the stigma of HIV/Aids. The foundation has books which carry educational messages in a fun manner and promotes educational reading in the country.

The funds raised helped to send the show to Olievenhoutbosch Christian School.

Kyalami Preparatory pupils bonded with the pupils at Olievenhoutbosch while watching the show and munching on healthy snacks.

Founder of the Goody Glove Foundation Vivian Perry said, “Everyone had such a blessed day. It is really astonishing what children can achieve on their own.”

She called on any more schools that would like to raise funds for a similar project to contact her.
