Business in Noordwyk robbed

NOORDWYK - A business on Kiaat Road, Noordwyk was robbed on 1 November at 1.30pm.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said the complainant was paying employees at a construction site when three unknown men, dressed in construction uniforms, caught them by surprise.

“One of the suspects entered the office and pointed a firearm at the complainant and his colleague. Suddenly the suspect called the other two suspects to come in. The complainant and other employees were ordered to lie down as the other suspects were entering the premises. The suspects ordered the complainant to show them the safe but the complainant said they did not have one.”

Tlamela said the suspects proceeded to search the employees and robbed them of their personal belongings including cellphones, laptops, and cash all to the value of around R28 000.

According to Tlamela, the complainant indicated that he could identify the suspects.

“No one has been arrested and the police are investigating, hoping to bring the suspects to book,” said Tlamela.

Midrand police is appealing to anyone with information to help the police locate the suspects.
