House robbed, no arrests

GLEN AUSTIN - A house on Donovan Road in Glen Austin was broken into and property worth an estimated R33 000 was stolen on 7 December at 2.45am.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said that, according to the complainant, when she went to sleep, she locked the doors of the house and the windows were closed, except for a kitchen window which was left open to let a cat out during the night.

The complainant was woken up by a noise in the kitchen and she went to the kitchen to check. Surprisingly, she noticed that a bottle of wine had fallen and the house keys were hanging on the open security door.

The complainant also noticed that a computer monitor, printer, cellphone, notebook bag, wallet with money, bank cards and a handbag were missing.

Tlamela said no arrests had been made and police were investigating.
