Place of prayer robbed

PRESIDENT PARK - A place of worship in President Park was robbed on 20 December at around 11.15pm, while a man and his wife were praying in the temple at 52 Stag Road.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said a white Ford Focus with a registration number starting with the letters CPS drove in.

Tlamlea said, “The victim said a man was driving the car with two other men in the back, who were wearing police uniforms. A man in the front had a reflective vest on.” According to Tlamela, one of the passengers, who was wearing a police uniform, was carrying a docket.

Tlamela said, “One of the men entered the temple and pointed a firearm at the couple and took them into the [attached] house and ordered them to lie down on the floor. The man started to take items from the couple.”

The suspect also robbed other people on the property. Items worth an estimated R212 000 were stolen.

Tlamela said no arrests had been made and police were investigating.
