Constable Gabriel Molefe apprehended two men, aged 28 and 32, for fraud at a company on Janadale Avenue in Halfway Gardens on 30 January.
Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said Molefe received a complainant about people behaving suspiciously outside a company building.
“Upon the arrival of the police, the complainant pointed out the suspects,”she said.
Tlamela explained that no one at the company knew the suspects who were sitting in a parked Silver Renault Sendero.
“When the police tested the vehicle, the registration [was for] a white Honda Ballade from Kempton Park,” said Tlamela.
She said the suspects had rented a vehicle and removed the original registration plate and put on a fake one.
Both suspects were arrested and will face fraud charges.
