Complainant raped, possessions stolen

MIDRAND - A house on Olifantsfontein Road in Glen Austin was burgled and the complainant was raped on 4 February and an estimated R25 000 worth of property and cash was stolen by an unknown suspect.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said, “According to the complainant, while she was
sleeping she heard the dogs barking outside and she woke up to investigate.

Suddenly she heard the door open.

“The suspect used an axe to gain entry into the house and entered the kitchen and tied up the complainant and demanded cash, cell
phones and laptops.

After taking the complainants two laptops and car keys, the suspect returned to the complainant.

Tlamela said, “The suspect took scissors and used them to cut the complainant’s nightdress and he undressed himself. The suspect then forced himself on the complainant and told her that ‘it is time for rape’. After the suspect raped the complainant he left her tied up. The complainant at a later stage managed to untie herself and called Midrand police for assistance.”

Tlamela said Midrand police were investigating the case of rape and house robbery and hope to make an arrest soon.
