Pupils encouraged to think big

INTERNATIONAL entrepreneur, British billionaire and public speaker Peter Sage visited Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School in Midrand on 10 March.

Sage told pupils how important it was “to dream big” and start any business venture, no matter how small.

Event organiser Aneil Manmohan, of Ambassadors Youth and Community Development said, “Peter Sage was in South Africa for another engagement and showed interest in speaking to young people. He encouraged pupils to take the biggest business risks, dream the wildest dreams and set out to not just build a successful business but be bold enough to change the business world.”

“Peter Sage shared his life experiences as an entrepreneur and lessons learnt that led him to be a billionaire.” Manmohan added.

Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School deputy principal Shape Msiza said the motivational talk was inspiring to the pupils.

“The pupils enjoyed being addressed by a successful person. Sage told them he started off selling toys and he did not even have a table. Today he is a billionaire.”

A pupil from the school, Majestic Moko said, “I learnt that we blame lack of resources for not trying to start a business. Sage taught us to be focused so as to achieve our goals and be happy.”
