The suspect was also in possession of large amounts of liquor and is thought to have been running an illegal shebeen.
Midrand police social crime prevention co-ordinator Constable Thari Maelane said Midrand police’s crime prevention and sector commanders got a tip-off about a man dealing drugs in Blue Valley from community members.
“The police found the man and asked to search the house. While searching, they found 75 beers and a large quantity of dagga. The police arrested the suspect,” said Maelane. The dagga and alcohol was confiscated.
Midrand police’s management thanked community members for providing the information that led to the arrest. Maelane said the help of the community was essential to fighting crime.
