Midrand police social crime prevention co-ordinator Constable Thari Maelane said that, according to the complainant, the robbery took place while she was eating in her dining room while watching TV.
The domestic worker was cleaning the house and saw three men entering, one pointing a firearm at her.
The suspects tied up the complainant and the domestic worker with rope and told them to lie on the floor.
“The suspects told the complainant that they were not looking for them, but they were looking for an ‘old man’ because they got information that he was selling drugs,” said Maelane.
The suspects then started stealing items in the house and also tied up a tenant who lives in an attached cottage.
They stole a flat-screen television, an external hard drive, Playstation, computer, jewellery, a cellphone and amplifier.
Maelane said no arrests had yet been made.
