Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said, “A man was robbed of cash and items on Allan Road in Glen Austin by three unknown
armed men.”
She said the complainant had just come from the bank and stopped on Allan Road to made a phone call from his vehicle.
“While he was busy on the call he was surprised by three armed suspects who pointed firearms at him. The suspects demanded money. They searched him and took the amount of R10 000 that he had withdrawn from the bank, and wallet with cards,” said Tlamela.
The suspects were in a white Hyundai 120 with a fake registration number.
“The registration number that was used was tested by Midrand police and was for a white golf.”
