Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said, “According to the complainant, he was walking along Pretorius Street in President Park when two unknown men approached him. One of the suspects was carrying a broken bottle and they told him that he must go with them, and he did.”
Tlamela said the complainant reported the men took him to a house on Pretorius Street and told him that they had ‘got him’ because he was a criminal.
“During the robbery, one of the suspects took the complainant’s jacket and while he was about to take the complainant’s cellphone, the complainant managed to run away,” said Tlamela.
The complainant called the police and pointed out the suspects who were arrested.
