Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said two armed men stole property at an estimated value of R50 000. The items included a TV, microwave, kettle, hi-fi, music system, DVD player, clothes, a jewellery box, a camera, bar fridge and video camera.
Tlamela said the homeowner was approached by a man who pointed a firearm at him. The suspect demanded money and a cellphone.
The homeowner was tied up by one suspect who assaulted him, while another suspect took the domestic worker into another room and raped her. “The two suspects then called their accomplice and the complainant heard a vehicle entering the yard,” said Tlamela.
The suspects loaded the stolen goods into a blue Quantum.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating the case.
