Managing director of the security services Danny Maduray said the company wanted to make car parks safer.
Car guards who saw a robbery or theft from a motor vehicle in a car park should call Ria Sebetsa and the company would respond ‘within minutes’.
“If that information leads to an arrest of a suspect, the security company would pay them a reward ranging from R2 500 to R10 000,” said Maduray.
Midrand Police Station commander Colonel Moodley said the police would work with Ria Sebetsa to tell them when an arrest and conviction was made.
Maduray hoped the reward would give car guards a reason to want to report crime.
“We are trying our best to combat crime in the Midrand precinct, but without the help from the community and the car guards we cannot win this battle alone,” said Maduray.
