Cycle for the animals
MIDRAND - Midrand SPCA is appealing to active Midrand residents to push pedals for the organisation in the Ride for a Purpose section in the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge.
Chairperson of Midrand SPCA Brenda Lucas said, “Thank you once again to everyone who took on the challenge last year and entered the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge to Ride for a Purpose. We have entered ourselves again this year, but they have changed the rules slightly. We now require 20 cyclists to enter.”
The closing date for entries has been extended to 17 June.
“Last year, with your help we raised nearly R13 000 for Midrand SPCA, and this money was used to purchase toys, food and blankets for the dogs and cats,” said Lucas.
She asked the community to spread the word that cyclists are needed to create awareness and funds for the organisation in the race around Johannesburg.
Last year, Ile Schutte raised the most funds out of all the cyclists for Midrand SPCA, raising R4 000.
