Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said the men were arrested on 22 April at the corner of West and Hofmeyer streets in President Park.
Tlamela said police were on the lookout for a white Golf in the Midrand area after a robbery that occurred in the Linden area. “While busy patrolling the area, the police spotted the white Golf at the corner of West and Hofmeyer streets and they immediately stopped it. There were three occupants in the vehicle and they were all searched, and the police found the firearm in the possession of the suspects,” said Tlamela.
She said the police requested to see a licence for the firearm, but the suspects failed to produce one.
