Kaalfontein boasts Scout pack

KAALFONTEIN - The first Kaalfontein Scout pack received their badges and scarves at a ceremony in Kaalfontein.

District commissioner of Scouts for Gauteng Northern District, Don Norris attended the ceremony along with children from Kaalfontein township and their parents.

The ceremony was held at Kaalfontein Primary School and the Scouts programme will be held on the school’s premises, although all children who live in Kaalfontein are welcome to join the Scouts pack.

The Scouts investiture ceremony began with Brownies singing for the Scouts and parents. There were 12 Kaalfontein Scouts invested in their uniform for the first time and they wore wide smiles as Norris and other Scouts attached their Scout badges and tied on their scarves.

Norris announced that Scout, Cynthia Mzimela would be the head Scout for the Kaalfontein Scout pack and community members who wanted their children to attend should contact her.

He wished the children well on the exciting chapter of being Scouts.

The Scouts ended the investiture by singing to the parents.
