School holiday fun
MIDRAND - While pupils all over Midrand have waited with baited breath for the school holidays, boredom often sets in quickly.
Midrand Reporter has put together a list of fun activities to occupy children (and parents) during their time off school.
- Express!ons will host an activity-based holiday programme at Jivana Studio on Norfolk Road in Carlswald. Children will be treated to arts, crafts, yoga, drama, music, cooking and games. Activities are suitable for children six years and older. The workshops will take place from 30 June to 4 July.

- Lory Park Zoo is always a highlight as children will be able to learn about animals and birds. Children can also join in the zoo’s adventure encounters, which give them the chance to interact with a tiger cub. The zoo is open every day from 10am to 4.30pm and is situated at 180/1 Kruger Road, President Park.

- The dance of the white stallions at the SA Lipizzaners is an exciting outing for the whole family. Performances take place every Sunday.

- For some TV fun, DStv is hosting the Kids’ Xtravaganza at Vodacom World in Midrand from 28 June to 6 July. Young children will be treated to regular 30-minute live shows featuring Mister Maker and Ben 10 from their favourite DStv kids’ shows. Tickets give visitors two-hour access to the DStv Kids’ Xtravaganza.
