Pupils take a trip to the dinosaur age

OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH - With eyes wide open and hearts racing, 250 pupils from Bathabile Primary School in Olievenhoutbosch took a walk through history.

Cell C treated the children to a trip to the Days of the Dinosaur Exhibition at Sandton Convention Centre.

The pupils and teachers relished the opportunity to board buses and take a journey to the exhibition.

Once inside, the pupils were treated to snacks and given Cell C caps to wear. Then, groups of 50 pupils set off to look around the exhibition.

The exhibition is 3 600m² and showcases 45 life-sized dinosaurs and two skeletons.

The dinosaurs move and roar, which caused some concern for the young pupils who were fearful but, with a guiding hand from their teachers, soon all the pupils were enjoying the experience.

The guides taught the pupils about the dinosaurs and the children were able to interact with the models in some areas of the exhibition.

The exhibition gave the pupils an understanding of the size, movements and routines of the dinosaurs.

The pupils and teachers agreed the experience was different to anything else they had experienced before, and helped them to understand the age of the dinosaurs.
