Primary schools invited to tackle animal cruelty

MIDRAND - The Animal Anti-Cruelty League is calling on Midrand primary school pupils to unite and win for a good cause.

They are being asked create posters depicting ways in which people show compassion and kindness to animals, care for animals, or how they affect their lives in positive ways.

The poster must be a picture with a message. A slogan or title may also contribute towards making the message clear. Any medium may be used such as paint, pastel, ink, crayon and others. And the paper size must either be A2 or A3. Entrants must have their age, name, surname, entry category, their grade, school’s name and their e-mail address.

There are four categories in which different grades fall under. The first category is for grades 1 and 2, Grade 3 to 5 are in the second category, and the third category is for grades 6 and 7. The fourth category is reserved for special needs schools.

The closing date is 31 October.

Entries are unlimited, however for each entry there must be a minimum donation of R10. All monies will be used by the league in their work of caring for and protecting animals.

The school with the most entries will win a Canon Laser Multi-functional printer and one set of cartridges valued at R12 599. The individual categories carry a first prize of R2 000 each.
