Midrand residents come second in race
MIDRAND - Ex-superbike racer Werner Mostert and navigator Henno du Plooy racing in the Moto-Netix team took second place in the Force Fuel 450 race at Sun City.
Mostert said the Sun City race was a tough one. “We hit a tree and damaged the car,” he said. “Luckily we could repair it and carry on racing the next day and still managed to finish second.”
Mostert said he decided to join the world of four wheel racing because it was much safer and more fun.
He said there were eight national races being held in the Donaldson Cross Country Championship and the next big one will be on 12 September in Vryburg.
“We are focused on building and developing a Polaris RZR side by side race quad to race in at the 2014 National Donaldson Cross Country Championships. The new side by side car will be a feeder to the Donaldson series.”
This is the second time the Moto-Netix team made it onto the podium this year. Earlier in the year they finished third in the Nkomazi 450 held in Malelane in Mpumalanga.
