The Midrand police are currently investigating the latest, which occurred on 9 September at around 3am.
In a statement to the police, the security guard on duty claimed that he had been patrolling the grounds when four men approached him. One of the men pointed a firearm at him. The suspect then tied him up with a wire and stayed with him while the other three staged a break-in.
He claims they broke a window to gain access to the property and he has no knowledge of the value of the goods they took.
The police have confirmed that a case was opened with regards to this incident, and Constable Matome Tlamela of the Midrand police added there had been an undisclosed number of other robberies at the dealership.
An unnamed source linked to the dealership spoke to the Midrand Reporter. “They take stupid things. The last time they took a laptop, this time they came back for the charger,” said the source, referring to the robbery on 9 September.
According to the source, the robbers also took five company awards and a shredding machine, however, they dumped the machine nearby the dealership’s exit. “Probably because they don’t know how to use it.”
