Disgruntled customer reports roach in meal

MIDRAND – This year it is no longer Woolies in the spotlight for having creepy crawlies in their food, but rather a popular Indian restaurant.

Sivan Govender ordered a take away meal from Thava Indian Restaurant at the Carlswald Centre on 23 January and was less than happy when he found a small roach in his meal.

Govender immediately took matters into his own hands and contacted the manager who was apologetic about the mishap with the food.

He then proceeded to report his find to the health department who have dispatched a health inspector to check out the restaurant and will take further action if any health hazards are found.

Govender said, “It’s not about the money, but good quality and healthy food.”

Thava Indian Restaurant was approached for comment, responding that the inspector would visit the restaurant on 3 February and that they will publicly address the matter after further investigation.
