Police invite you to a fun day

MIDRAND - The Midrand police, the Midrand Community Policing Forum and the Midrand and Public Safety Youth Desk will host a Sports against Crime initiative with pupils from high schools around the area.

The entities have asked the community to join them for a fun and educational day out.

The event will be held at Midrand High School at the corner 1st and 3rd roads in Halfway Gardens. It will be on 14 March from 9am to 2pm. Netball, volleyball and soccer, among other games will be played on the day. The winning teams will take trophies home.

“The use of drugs at our schools is a major problem,” said social crime prevention co-ordinator, Constable Nanti Belebesi.

“We have made a call to security companies, Metro police, emergency services and the CPF to come together to partner with us with the aim to utilise sport to address crime,” she said.

Details: 011 314 1600; 071 676 2223.
