Hospital’s renal unit grows

MIDRAND - Life Carstenhof Clinic's renal dialysis unit which officially opened in 2013 has added six more dialysis stations.

The hospital’s spokesperson Karabo Motsoagae said four of the six units were now operational. “The unit has since grown from having 20 to 40 chronic patients,” said Motsoagae. “More stations will definitely help kidney patients who require dialysis.”

Hospital manager Linda Bhagaloo said, “The success of this unit is largely attributable to our nephrologist Dr Bongi Mahala and the renal nursing staff.”

The hospital would also like to thank maintenance manager Dene Banks and contractors who worked on the units.
