Rob Forbes take up Plascon’s charity challenge

MIDRAND - Yenzani Children's Home's interior and garage received a fresh coat of paint, courtesy of 5FM DJ Rob Forbes, three of his fans and Plascon.

DJ Rob took up the Plascon South Africa’s charity challenge, and chose Yenzani Children’s Home to paint with the 15-year guaranteed paint. Asked why he chose Yenzani for the challenge, DJ Rob said, “The home was recommended to me by a colleague. Seeing the work that has been done here, I am glad children from Yenzani benefited.”

Plascon group brand manager Kudzai Ukama said DJ Rob took on the challenge with great enthusiasm. She said, “We challenged him and other celebrities to make a difference to a charity of their choice by painting it, and the results have been great.”

Ukama added that Plascon chose charities as they may not have funds to paint as often as they’d like. The 15-year guaranteed paint is easy to clean and lasts longer, she said.

Sanne Mirk from Yenzani said they are thankful for the new paint the home received. “What is special about Yenzani is that we have a few children whom we give individual care to, to us they are not just another child without a home,” said Mirk.

Yenzani is pleading with the community to assist with warm winter clothing for the children, more curtains, and money to buy medication for the children that they cannot get for free at public hospitals and clinics.
