Gekco needs feedback from residents

KYALAMI – A public meeting has been scheduled by the Greater Kyalami Conservancy Organisation (Gekco), along with representatives from the Regional Spatial Development Framework for the City of Joburg, regarding the Greater Kyalami Integrated Plan.

The meeting will be held at Beaulieu College on 25 March at 6.30pm.

The meeting will have a specific focus on issues found in Kyalami, Glenferness and Beaulieu including large infrastructure projects (sewage line), roads (K56, Zinnia and Maple roads), densities, services and rates.

All other issues and opinions are welcome for discussion as well. The purpose of the meeting is to create a neutral platform for sharing of ideas on development and to collect input for incorporation into the draft plan.

Residents may also register to receive feedback from the meeting or to receive notice of future meetings.

Inputs have been gathered from developers in the area and their proposals have been incorporated into the plans merely to inform as well as to get comment from local residents, who are encouraged to share their views. The results of this initiative will be presented to the Directorate of City Transformation and Planning.

All residents are urged to take part in this overall spatial development framework review process, as the overall policy changes will have to be incorporated into any plans which any community or residents’ or homeowner’s association wishes to formulate and submit to Council for consideration. Being part of the overall framework process will also provide residents with more insight on the types of issues which need consideration.
