MixFM donates to animal shelter campaign

MIDRAND - Local radio station MixFm donated R10 000 to a campaign created by the magazine, Animaltalk, which is raising funds for Kitty and Puppy Haven.

Animaltalk said it was grateful for a donation which will assist the haven, a shelter for neglected, abused and abandoned animals from low-income areas.

A statement by the magazine read, “We would like to extend a huge thank you to the awesome team at MixFm who donated R10 000 to a campaign that Animaltalk is running for the haven.”

MixFM station manager Abigail Milosevich said, “With so many charities out there who are all in desperate need, a lot of the time we forget about our fury friends, and in some cases, people see animals as less important.”

She added that MixFM is involved with charities as they feel that every living being on the planet needs love and support.

Samantha Berger from Kitty and Puppy Haven said, “We are grateful for the donation.”

This comes after Kitty and Puppy Haven’s property in President Park, Midrand, was burgled on 14 March. Criminals stole all the computers and food supplies.
