Market at Blue Hills attracts residents
MIDRANDÂ - The Little Field Mouse Market, a travelling craft market, hosted craft makers, food lovers and artisans at the Blue Hills Equestrian Estate in Midrand recently.
Event organiser Debbie Fendick said, “We have food, clothes, jewellery and charity stalls such as Women Against Rape and Special Wings Foundation, to add to the market visitors’ experience.”
People came as far as Pretoria and Krugersdorp to showcase their products. Innocent Chikepe from Pretoria had a Jacaranda woodwork stand. He said, “I am happy that people can get to see the work we do through the opportunity offered by the market.”
Adele and Stephan Swarts had a waffle stand. They said, “We supply waffles to restaurants and coffee shops, we are happy to be here.”
A band from Krugersdorp, known as Dagdroom, kept market visitors entertained with their music and popular songs. Band member Adriaan Schoombie said the band is made up of five members namely JJ Schoeman, Marco Schoeman, Adriaan Schoombie, Heyden Genner and Max Juul. Schoombie added, “We are an Afrikaans rock and roll and English cover band.”
Children were entertained at the market with face painting and played on a jumping castle.
