Teacher who allegedly assaults pupils may be suspended

TEMBISA - A video of a teacher allegedly assaulting two pupils in a classroom at a secondary school in Tembisa emerged and circulated on Facebook recently, and now reports suggest that the teacher may be suspended.

News24 has reported that the Gauteng Department of Education has said the teacher has been given notice of intention to suspend him following the circulation of the video.

It was reported that the video was brought to the department’s attention two weeks ago.

In the video, two male pupils are standing at the front of the classroom with the teacher. The teacher kicks one of the pupils and holds the two pupils by the shirt collar.

The other pupils in the classroom can be seen laughing at the incident.
