Ivory Park police spokesperson Neldah Sekgobela said police received a tip-off from the community about someone who was selling drugs.
“On arrival at the place where the suspect was believed to be, police searched the place for drugs but did not find any. Police found a pistol with a magazine and two rounds of ammunition. The suspect failed to produce the licence for the firearm and its serial number was filed off,” said Sekgobela.
The suspect appeared at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on 30 April for possession of unlicensed firearm.
