Unisa’s free lecture on logistics supply chain
MIDRAND - UNISA School of Business Leadership is hosting a free public lecture on logistics supply chain for Midrand residents.
The sector is ever changing and improving, and the lecture will help all those involved in the supply chain to negotiate win-win agreements.
It will be held at auditorium 3 on the corner Janadel and Alexandra avenues at Unisa’s Midrand campus on 14 May.
Entrepreneurs are invited to update their skills and knowledge.
Professor Douglas Boateng, Africa’s first professor of supply and value chain management at Unisa (SBL), will deliver the lecture on his findings from global research on the link between the negotiation aspects of supply chain management and service delivery challenges.
“One of the most important but often misunderstood aspects of supply chain management is negotiation. It is not about haggling and price chiseling for self-gain, but rather a catalyst for building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships,” said Boateng.
“Appreciating its strategic importance and involving the right professionals from the outset can assist with achieving win-win value chain agreements and subsequent contracts.”
Attendees are advised to arrive at the auditorium between 5.30pm and 6pm and to RSVP as soon as possible as space is limited.
