Drake Koka School burglared overnight

KAALFONTEIN - DRAKE Koka School in Kaalfontein was burgled overnight on 7 May.

Emma Motseo, the school’s governing body representative, said the school is disappointed about the way certain members of the community have stolen from a place of learning. “Criminals stole 25 laptops, 40 computers, a cartridge and tablets from the computer class with an estimated value of R560 000. They are destroying young children’s chances at better learning,” she stated.

She explained that criminals broke a door and an outside wall to gain access into the computer class. School staff discovered that one of the classes had been burgled the following morning and reported the matter to the police.

Ivory Park police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela confirmed that police were called to the school after the burglary occurred. She said, “We are investigating a burglary case.”

Anyone with information that can assist with the case can call Ivory Park Police on 011 990 9600.
