Midrand police pay a visit to school

MIDRAND - MIDRAND police and its Youth Desk visited Sagewood Pre-primary School for an educational visit.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said, “Police spoke to children about their rights, personal safety and advised them to ask their parents and guardians to teach them their residential addresses and parents’ contact numbers for times when they need them.”

A teacher at the school, Saskia Breedt said, “We appreciate the time and information police gave the children.”

Breedt added that members of the police taught the children how to cross the street and wear car seatbelts and they learnt that the police were there to serve and protect the community. The children had a chance to inspect handcuffs, police uniforms, police badges, and to hear the sirens on police vehicles.
