Midrand Primary and High School hosted its first annual mini debutante ball in Glen Austin.

Principal Sivendra Naidoo said the event was a resounding success.

Naidoo commented, “The debutantes shone on their special night. The management of our school would like to thank parents and pupils for all their efforts in making the evening a memorable one.”

Naidoo added that the evening commenced with a parade by pupils followed by an introduction about themselves and their personal interests. Thereafter they performed a group dance and during supper entertained guests with a freestyle dance. “There were also games and raffle draws through the night, the children enjoyed it all.”

A debutante, Xana Ruocchio said, “I had an awesome time, a fun time with my family watching me and I loved all my gifts.”

The school would like to thank programme directors Vivian Moodley and Emil Gunpath who provided services for the ball, and Zena Velloo John, author of art and poetry publication Beyond Spice who attended the event as a guest of honour.
