Arrow’s owners see him in the Fourways Review

WATERFALL - Remember Arrow, the dog found wondering in Waterfall Cemetery and adopted by 7 Arrows Security? His owners saw the article too, and came forward!

In our article, Keeping more than just humans safe Week ending 14 September, the Fourways Review published the story of Arrow, a boerboel-cross found injured and wandering around the Waterfall Cemetery late last year, who was then rescued and adopted by 7 Arrows Security staff.

After the article was published, Arrow’s original owners spotted his photo and have come forward!

Early last week, Genevieve (surname witheld) started off her day like any other and went about her tasks as usual. While laying out the Fourways Review newspaper under her dog’s bowls, Genevieve came across the story and picture of Arrow that had featured a few weeks earlier in the newspaper.

She immediately showed her husband and children his picture as he had a remarkable resemblance to their dog, Zeus, who had gone missing a year earlier. They had searched far and wide for Zeus and his brother, who went missing at the same time when the family’s gate was accidentally left open, but with no success.

“The children were devastated and asked about Zeus constantly,” she said.

The family decided to contact the 7 Arrows team about the dog in the photograph, and agreed to visit Arrow at the Waterfall Estate Dog Kennels where he now lives, to see if he was indeed Zeus.

Once the family arrived at the kennels, it was obvious that Arrow recognised them. He greeted them with excited kisses and was clearly fond of each and every one of them. Although the family was excited to see him again, they ultimately decided that he should stay with the 7 Arrows team.

“We wouldn’t want to disrupt Arrow and remove him from the 7Arrows K9 unit, as this is his home and he is happy here,” said Genevieve.

“We are just happy to have peace of mind and know he is cared for and living a good life, which was always intended for him.”

Victor Tortora Chief Operating Officer at security company added, “It is so heart-warming to know that Arrow came from a loving home and wasn’t just a stray dog tossed out to fend for himself. We are thrilled that Arrow’s story has come full circle and that we have helped bring closure to a family.

“Arrow is a part of the 7Arrows family now, and will remain well-loved and cared for, for many years to come.”
