Men and women in blue celebrated

MIDRAND – The Ivory Park Police Station management honour their staff members who went beyond the call of duty.

As a gesture of appreciation, the management of Ivory Park Police Station held a year-end function for its members on 9 December.

Staff members whose commitment to their jobs went beyond the call of duty were given certificates of appreciation and trophies.

The station’s communication officer, Captain Bernard Matimulane, said the primary aim of awarding the certificates was to honour members who had gone beyond the call of duty and also to motivate other colleagues to put more effort into their occupation.

“All of these efforts are being made with the sole aim of making Ivory Park one of the safest places to reside in. As things stand, Ivory Park is one of the crime-infested areas in Gauteng, but nevertheless, these members have shown nothing but commitment to their craft,” said Matimulane.

The chairman of the Ivory Park Community Policing Forum, Frans Mothupi, addressed the attendees and recommitted the forum to keep working more closely with the police to make the Ivory Park policing precinct safer.

He reminded police members about the importance of respecting one another and working together, and urged the community to support the police and forum.
