The Ivory Park police are appealing to members of the public for any information regarding a business robbery at Bonwelong Primary School in Extension 8 in Ivory Park where laptops and computers were stolen at gunpoint.

Captain Bernard Matimulane said, “A security guard on duty in the early hours of 8 January, was ordered by two men to show them the way to the administration offices of the school where the stolen items were kept.” The guard was then tied up in the offices while the robbers began to take the computers and a camera.
“Among the computers taken are LGs, HPs and a Sony camera; the total value of the [stolen] property is around R63 000. The CCTV cameras were [disabled] and the robbers’ initial entry into the administration block was through the roof,” said Matimulane.
It is suspected that a vehicle was used because the number of items taken could not have been carried.
Matimulane assured the community that the police are following all leads and they appeal to members of the public with information to come forward.

Ivory Park Police Station station commander, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo added, “It is important that the perpetrators of this crime be arrested, as their actions jeopardise the future of the pupils in a negative way. Should any member of the public have information, please assist us.”
