Memorial service for murdered child has been postponed

MIDRAND – PS Tsosane Primary School has postponed a memorial service for a Grade 3 child who was found burnt and murdered in Bapsfontein.

PS Tsosane Primary School in Ivory Park has postponed a memorial service for an eight-year-old schoolboy to 24 May. The child’s burnt body was found near a river in Bapsfontein.

The school had intended to hold the memorial service for Musa Sebola on 18 May but it was postponed due to the unavailability of his mother. The boy’s grandfather, Simon Sebola told the Midrand Reporter that the school had decided to postpone the memorial service to accommodate the grieving mother, Jane Sebola, who was away in Limpopo.

“She couldn’t cope with the death of the boy and we saw it best to take her to my parents’ house in Limpopo. She will, however, be available on 24 May,” said Simon.

The Grade 3 boy went missing on 2 May and never returned home from school. His mother’s ex-lover, a local businessman, was arrested and charged with kidnapping after Musa disappeared. The businessman is currently in police custody facing charges of kidnapping and murder.
