25-year celebrations with the 10111 National Command Centre
MIDRAND – Gauteng Provincial Choral Choir are the champions...
The 10111 National Command Centre celebrated 25 years of operations with a national police music competition held at Thaba Tshwane military base from 21 to 24 September.
Nine choirs from the different provinces participated in the competition.
Two administrative clerks, Unathi Ndothi and Dimakatso Maathari from the Gauteng 1011 Command Centre in Midrand sang in the Gauteng Provincial Choral Choir team during the festivities.
Captain Pinky Tsinyane, spokesperson for the Gauteng-based centre said, “One of the objectives of the three-day celebrations was to strengthen unity through music as well to as show support to crime prevention initiatives through community outreach programmes and cross-cultural communication in the police service.”
A team of network members from the Gauteng centre attended the event to show moral support to Ndothi and Maathari in the Police Musical Choral Competition Association.
“We are proud of our two members who took part and are pleased to say that Gauteng choir was crowned the overall winner, walking away with first position for both the African and western pieces,” said Tsinyane.
