Gymnabellz programme trainers give a fitness demonstration to the learners at Noordwyk High School.


Midrand-based Gymnabellz programme trainers spent the morning of 2 August giving a fitness demonstration to the learners at Noordwyk High School.

The trainers joined in on the school’s morning assembly to give a small gymnastics and aerobics demonstrations for their students to promote their classes. Trainer at Gymnabellz, Pumeza Mqeni, said, “We are a team of athletes. We have a programme that focuses on crossfit, gymnastics and aerobics that we promote in schools.”

She added that the sports they promote usually are not in the school extramural programme and they would like to get children between the ages of six and 18 years old involved in their programme.

The Gymnabellz programme operates at a number of schools either as a physical education programme or an extra mural activity.

Trainer Nelson Midzi added that the demonstration is also to spark an interest in exercise and physical activity. “Physical activity is extremely important to a students performances in school and their concentration.”
