Flying squad swoops in

TEMBISA – The Johannesburg Flying Squad recovered a car, illegal firearms and various personal items linked to a robbery in Tembisa.


The Johannesburg Flying Squad recovered a vehicle, firearms and a number of personal items in Tembisa.

Communications officer for the Johannesburg Flying Squad senior personnel officer Raymond Sambo said that the recovery was made on 9 September at 4pm.

“Members followed up information of a Grey Mercedes Benz A200 vehicle that committed a house robbery in Bedfordview, which was recovered abandoned on the corner of Maokeng and Mawana streets in Tembisa,” he said.

The police conducted a search and recovered four unlicensed firearms with ammunition as well as two laptops and an undisclosed amount of jewellery.

“It was later discovered that the vehicle was robbed as well. All the recovered items were seized and booked at Tembisa South Police Station.

“Investigation continues to find out of the motives of the criminals who might be involved in all this and put them where they belong.”
