Go back in time: What things cost in the 80’s in South Africa

Much has changed in South Africa since the 1980's including prices of everyday goods, which have become overbearingly expensive due to the economy. Let's take a look at what they cost around 30 years ago ...

In the 80’s, newspapers were filled with specials on groceries, cars, furniture and take out food. The prices of these items were shocking to the average person in today’s economy.  Work leaped off of every vacant page in all the newspapers.

Property was affordable and an asset to have with the prices in the paper ranging from R67,500 for a four bedroom to R185,000 for a four bedroom double story depending on the location of your property that would determine your price.

Daily products we use everyday have become overbearingly expensive due to the economy.
