Police and community members from the former Johannesburg North Cluster got together to share their vision for 2020.
The event was hosted at the Siloam Ministries in Blue Hills and saw members from the high-ranking officials and officers from a number of stations in the cluster.

Johannesburg North Cluster includes Midrand, Sandton, Alexandra, Sandringham and Johannesburg Central. The event also hosted Johannesburg district commissioner Major General Max Masha alongside community leaders to discuss a way forward as the police go into 2020. Masha said that the meeting was an opportunity to lift the spirits of the officers for the new year and to let all the officers from various stations know that their work is appreciated.

Midrand CPF chairperson Steven Johnstone said that the meeting was important because Gauteng police used to have clusters with five stations in a cluster but changed to five large districts with 142 stations working together.

He added that the 142 stations will be working together going forward.
The five stations within the former clusters shared their statistics and information while touching on problem areas within the individual stations.

Cluster CPF chairperson Takis Michalakis said, “I think from where we see it, the previous year has been difficult. There has been high levels of crime and unrest. But we, as the community, are finding true heroes among the police.”
He added that the efforts that have been put in from the police have been highly appreciated by the local community and they look forward to working more closely in 2020.
