Locals are encouraged to donate a blanket to others

MIDRAND – The Midrand CPF and VEC are calling on the community to donate to their blanket drive.

The Midrand Community Policing Forum has called on the local community to donate blankets in April.

The CPF will be joined by the Victim Empowerment Centre to gather the blankets. Public relations officer of the CPF, Jacqui von Loggerenberg said the drive is new to the CPF.

Many homeless people come to the station for assistance and the least they can leave with is a blanket. She added, “It’s a way to get to know your community as well as giving back, as volunteers and leading by example, starting a movement.”

Following the lockdown, residents who wish to donate a blanket can drop it off at the Victim Empowerment Centre container in the Midrand Police Station parking lot or, alternatively for collections, send an email to Midrandcpfpro@gmail.com
